Capítulo 7 / Chapter 7

Please find the English version following this post.

Hi folks, is everything ok? Hope so!

Zambia is a country free of war since they got its independency on October 24th 1964, then last week was independency celebration but I didn`t hang out. I heard they celebrated in the soccer field but I just went hiking with my friend. We took nice pictures and I got bit surprise with the view, as you can see it`s becoming a desert, no many trees. I guess few time ago they got awareness about it but still not working out, maybe the problems is also they don`t have seeds to plant new trees or something like that, maybe also the government and some NGOs should do something. Our NGOs has a plan to mobilize the community and take action about that issue, but I don`t know when. Anyway I think the view is still beautiful (image 01 - 04) and the sunset is also awesome.

I took the last weekend off and went to Lusaka to rest and also meet new people, new culture…A lot of foreign in the backpackers, hanged out with some friends, in short was a lot of fun and I`m very fresh.

DAPP in partnership with KCM (Konkola Copper Mine) have donated sewing machine for 5 women`s clubs (image 05). I just visited one of them to make sure they can use it and how they will work with that from now. I just asked them, what are you going to do now? They answered: We are going to make uniforms for preschool, wow I got so happy that they are sharing their benefit through the community and I will try to make sure they will do it. They were really happy with this sewing machine was great time with them (image 06).

Otherwise this week we just started to build a new shelter for Mubanga preschool (image 07), maybe it will be done by next week. I also got more donation from my relatives and friends and it will help buy few materials such iron sheets for the roof. I`m really glad for everything my family and friends from Brazil are sending to help these people here.

I also can`t forget about the first donation, that we could buy many kits of materials for preschools and they really appreciated it. I and my friends took some videos and pictures and we made this short movie (bellow) special for all supporters. THANK YOU SO MUCH SUPPORTERS. Enjoy the video and great weekend!
